College of Science and Mathematics

The College of Science and Mathematics looks back in the year 1961 as its early beginnings when it functioned as the Science and Mathematics component of the General Education Department of the erstwhile Zamboanga normal College (ZNC). After acquiring its own building in 1972, it started offering it very first science degree program, BS Chemistry. Seven years later, in 1979, it was named the University Science Center (USC). By virtue of the Board Resolution No. 89,S.1985 approved on Nov. 7, 1985, the USC was converted into what is known today as the College of Science and Mathematics.

For more than 25 years, the College of Science and Mathematics has been firm in its unwavering stand in the pursuit of educational leadership and academic excellence in the fields of sciences and mathematics. It is one among the colleges of the University performing its mission efficiently and effectively in meeting the vision it has set for itself in line with the vision of the university.
