College of Nursing

From a Department of Nursing in 1974, the College of Nursing has evolved and developed into a reputable college producing highly qualified nurses who are equipped for hospital employment locally and globally. Track record shows that due to its outstanding performance in the Nursing Licensure examination, the WMSU College of Nursing has gained the trust and confidence of the community in terms of producing highly qualified professional nurses. Through the years since its existence, graduates has pursued various fields of specialization, serving our nation and in different countries.

The College envisions itself to be the center of distinctive nursing education fostering the development of graduates who are values oriented, socially responsive and globally competitive. It is committed to develop a perceptive, caring, ethically responsive, innovative and professionally competent nurses.

The College offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a four-year undergraduate program and it further prepares nurse practitioners to function in the different clinical fields of specialization, to include Nursing Education, through their non-thesis Master in Nursing Program with areas of specialization in Medical Surgical Nursing, Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Maternal and Child Health Nursing.

The Master of Arts in Nursing has majors in Nursing Education and Nursing Management.
