All the way from Malangas and Curuan WMSU campuses, Aurora, Molave, Pagadian, Mabuhay, Siay and Tungawan External Studies Units, athletes and participants in the various events have shown remarkable power during the competition.

From day one, high spirits filled the air for the ESUs as Mr. Lover boy H. Dag-uman, a first year BSED student won first runner up and Ms. Ivy E. Bastiong who hail from Pagadian was awarded 2nd runner-up in the Mr. and Ms. WMSU last August 31,2013. Both candidates emerged winners in different special categories in the pageant with Mr. Dag-uman receiving Mr. Talent and Mr. Sun Gate Smile awards while Ms. Bastiong was awarded a modeling contract from the Models Association of Zamboanga. The two further turned out to be the most liked candidates in Facebook.

In the dance competition held last September 3 at the WMSU Juanito Bruno Gymnasium Pagadian team swept the audience off their feet after performing amazing dance steps bagging 2 golds for Pop dance and 2 golds for Latin dance.

As partial report, the rest of the ESUs as to date have been consistently winning in sports particularly in volleyball, basketball, track and field for both men and women as against various colleges from the main campus. The different ESU Palaro 2013 delegates are presently housed in campus A where they occupy the ILS-Elementary area, the College of Social Sciences and the College of Communications and Humanities grounds. For the ESUs, the admirable quality of staying focus is evident among competing athletes because the ultimate aim is to land as champion in the overall competition and to strengthen bonds of peace and unity with the mother institution.
