Dr. Eldigario Dagalea Gonzales assumed the Presidency of the Western Mindanao State University at 47 thus, becoming the youngest president in the university’s history.
Dr. Gonzales ascendancy to the university’s top position came at a time when national events were taking a pivot where managerial knowledge and skills are assets in the stream of national, regional and local growth development.
With a doctorate degree in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines, Dr. Gonzales carries with him a vast experience in administration with a career in education that started from Instructor, Professor, Assistant Vice President and Vice President at the Mindanao State University. His last academic stint prior to the WMSU presidency was as Chancellor-Vice President of the Mindanao State University-Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography.
His various consultancy works touch based with agencies as the World Bank, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Ford Foundation. His involvement cuts across studies within his various interests in Higher Education Management, Policy Studies, Evaluation Research, Project Development and Management, Organization and Management, Human Resources Management, Local Government Studies, Rural Development Studies and Planning and Budgeting Systems.
Dr. Gonzales vaunts of a colorful professional career and essential management skills necessary in pushing the Western Mindanao State University as the lead university in the next millennium.
