UNESCO, WMSU to pilot RICE

To deepen the awareness of the education sector regarding the progress of the educational development goals in Region IX and ARMM, the National Association of UNESCO Clubs in the Philippines (NAUCP) has tapped the Western Mindanao State University Peace Mediators UNESCO club of the Center for Peace and Development and Go Ahon Pilipinas to conduct the 1st Regional Innovation Conference on Education (RICE) in the region.

Set on June 22 at the Celebrity Hall of Grand Astoria Hotel, this city, the participants coming from different schools in the city and Basilan State College will undergo a workshop in which they will be asked to come up with plans in response to the Millennium Development Goals.

RICE 2013 is NAUCP’s move t foster new partnership and develop innovative solutions to provide community-based approach in the Post 2015 Education Goals of MDG and EFA (Education for All) and is set to conduct conferences in different regions in the Philippines including Northern Mindanao, Cagayan Valley, Bicol, Ilocos, Visayas, Central Mindanao and now, Western Mindanao.

Themed as “My World, My Philippines, My Province: Moving Towards the Post 2015 Regional Education Agenda,” City Mayor and Congressman-Elect Celso L.
