University Student Council (USC) of Western Mindanao State University provided a bridge for the students and the administration to discuss the different issues enclosing the university. The event dubbed as Speak Out: Students Meet the Administration was held at Dr. Juanito Bruno Gymnasium last February 16, 2011.

The forum was initiated by University Student Regent, Alvin Rex M. Lucero and participated by the student body. The University President, Dr. Grace J. Rebollos, Prof. Milagros F. Yosores (Dean of Student Affairs), Prof. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena (Dean of Admissions), Dr. Loyda Bangahan (Vice President for Planning, Finance and Administration), Prof. Aurora O. Manzon (University Registrar), Dr. Ricardo Somblingo (Special Assistant of the Vice President of Academic Affairs for students), Rosalie G. Tan (University Accountant), Dr. Edena C. Fernandez (Scholarship Office Director) and Engr. Antonio Angelo J. Limbaga (Management Information System and Technology Office Director) were present to answer and clarify the students’ queries. Deans of the different colleges also attended the forum.

Speak Out touched issues on the different student fees, facilities, student’s rights and privileges and other matters concerning the studentry. The students were allowed to address the questions directly to the university officials and the officials in turn shed light on the questions raised. (Ekeena O. Lim)
