Over 1,500 WMSU officials, faculty members, students and staff engaged in a fitness activity that promoted not only the wellbeing and solidarity of the WMSU family, but also honored the importance of women in shaping a better future.
WMSU President, Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho, led the President’s Fun Run yesterday, March 8, in celebration of the International Women’s Day with the theme “Juana: Ang Desisyon mo ay Mahalaga sa Kinabukasan ng Bawat Isa, Ikaw na!” organized by the College of Physical Education, Recreation and Sports (CPERS) and the Gender Resource and Research Center (GRRC).
After the 3-kilometer run from the WMSU grounds to the Airport via Baliwasan Chico and back to WMSU via Normal Road, all the runners jumped and danced to the ‘Juana’ song encouraging all Juanas and Juans to stand up and be one with the nation in advocating gender equality and respecting everyone’s role in building a better future.
The activity is part of the observance of the 2015 National Women’s Month that is annually spearheaded by the Philippine Commission on Women.
