WMSU-CSS responds to flood victims

CSS Faculty and students are one in helping the residents of Barangay San Jose Gusu.

Barangay San Jose Gusu was one of the most affected barangays in Zamboanga City with 200 displaced families when typhoon “Lawin” hit the city.

With the initiative of the WMSU College of Social Sciences (CSS) Dean of the College, Dr. Rufina Aranez Cruz and the CSS Extension Coordinator, Ms. Rosette B. Perano, the team responded by giving away relief goods to the flood victims of Gulayan Drive, San Jose Gusu last September 26.

The CSS Team distributed 72 packs of relief goods consisting of rice, canned goods, biscuits, noodles and used clothes to the flood victims. This extension services was made possible through the concerted efforts of the students and faculty of the CSS.

More relief goods are scheduled for distribution to other affected barangays, according to the Extension Coordinator Perano.

CSS team was also assisted by the College Student Board (CSB) coordinator, Ms. Joyce Mangubat, CSS Faculty Club, Women’s Club under Ms. Analiza Dy and all CSS Departments: Economics Psychology, Political Science, Accountancy, Social Studies and History.
