Western Mindanao State University acquired a new utility van for the College of Home Economics (CHE). In a simple ceremony headed by the university president, Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho and participated by different WMSU officials and CHE faculty members, the new Toyota HiAce van was blessed near the CHE building.
Fr. Mauricio Ulep, CMF-Claret School of Zamboanga City School Director initiated the blessing ceremony of the new university service vehicle. The said utility van will be devoted for the monitoring and evaluation of areas in Zamboanga City by the faculty members of the college. Further, the vehicle will be used to benchmark more areas that will provide suitable learning experience especially for the Nutrition and Dietetics and Hotel and Restaurant Management students.
The blessing ceremony was followed by a fete at the college’s function room. CHE Dean-Prof. Lucia M. Santos and the whole of the CHE faculty were grateful for the support given by the administration not only in terms of facilities but as well as backing up the college’s every endeavour.
The party not only served as a thanksgiving occasion for the newly acquired van, the different retirees of the college and birthday celebrants were also honored. The college paid tribute to Teresita M. Antonio and Teresita T. Kanindot, two of the university’s new retirees and to the post-birthday celebrants who were CHE Dean-Prof. Lucia M. Santos and Associate Dean-Prof. Gladess A. Pagal.
“I commend the Dean for her efforts in the accreditation and aggressive and assertive initiative in bringing excellence to the college,” Dr. Ho praise the Prof. Santos’ performance as dean of the college.
Moreover, the university is undergoing several construction developments in its main campus. Few of the on-going constructions in the campus are the recently completed Gate 1 of Lot 1, College of Law Canteen, College of Social Science building extension and Student Dormitory with Multi-Purpose Convention Hall located at Lot 2.
