The WMSU Intergrated Laboratory School, Elementary Department (ILSED) will enjoy the comfort and convenience of the newly renovated 150 seating capacity of a Multi-Purpose building after the university president Dr. Edilgario D. Gonzales inaugurated it on the occasion of his birthday last November 5, 2005.
The ILS-Principal prof. Rosina C. Kong assisted the president the cutting of the ribbon before the blessing officiated by Fr. Filmore Calibo, witnessed by WMSU official, guest and ILSED faculty.
The building used to be the Multi-Purpose Hall was built from PTA sources in 2001 through the initiative of Prof. Miriam O. Kanti, then ILSED General PTA President this was formally turned over to the president during its blessing and inauguration which happens on the 35th Foundation Day of the University.
Three years later, management saw the need for additional calssrooms and so with a WMSU budget of 1.2 million generated from the corporate funds, the hall underwent a major renovation which started in May of the year. The extended building now has three fully air-conditioned classrooms which can readily and conveniently be converted into a social hall with 150 seating capacity.
The President’s vision continues to come into reality in the ILSED with the principal aiming of giving only “BEST” for the department. (Annaliza T. Maghanoy, ILSED In-House Press Cordinator/PAO/WMSU)
