WMSU To Host Star-Level Ballroom Training

The Institute of Physical Education, Sports and Cultural Affairs (IPESCA) of Western Mindanao State University(WMSU) will host the conduct of the Mindanao-Wide Seminar-Workshop on Ballroom Competitor Choreography(Star Level) on April 27-29 at the Dr. Juanito Bruno Gymnasium, WMSU campus.

IPESCA Dean Alicia Lourdes Mas- Soriano said “The seminar-workshop aims to update the knowledge and skills pf dance sport athletes, coaches and trainers physical education teachers and ballroom dance enthusiasts in the two disciplines of dance sports-the Latin-American and Modern Standards.”

The actual training will be conducted by a team from the Philippine Proffesional Dance Sports Association(PPDSA) and the Austral-Asian Arts Theater Dance International (AAATDI). The team is composed of: 1) Stanley Alexander – AAATDI Examiner/Adjudicator/Dance Master and team leader; 2) Andrei Roslovtsev – PPDSA Vice- Chairman and AAATDI 2004 East Asia Ballroom Champion and Adjucator; 3) Reggie Perico – AAATDIBB and LA Vice-President and East Asia World Open Vice-President and 2003 World Open Ballroom Finalist and Licensed Adjucator.

A mini-competition among the participants of the training will cap its closing. The competition will be in both Latin-American and Modern Standard categories, Mas-Soriano said.
