Turning over the key of responsibility to Dr. Milabel E. Ho, WMSU president of the newly inaugurated covered-court bleacher with three rooms, Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar together with some city officials manifested full support of the university’s endeavors in a turn-over ceremony and blessing of the infrastructure held in the campus last March 4, 2016.
In response Dr. Ho expressed her sincere appreciation for the laudable effort of the City Mayor of Zamboanga for consistently promoting the welfare of the students in their pursuit of excellent education. Despite trying times and the crisis that inevitably come our way, she believes the city has remained steadfast and one with the university in its advocacy for peace, unity and harmony.
Mayor Beng furthermore underscored the privilege of the WMSU students as scholars of the country in being able to avail of the affordable tuition the university provides, quality instruction and the educational facilities important in the learning process. The sports complex constituting the covered-court completed a few years back and now with the newly constructed bleacher cum classrooms shall “go a long way” for students in the physical education, recreation, sports and for other functions in the university quipped Mayor Beng.
In attendance during the inauguration and blessing of the covered-court bleacher were WMSU officials and students.The officiating priest was Rev. Fr. Angel Angeles of the CMF. Also present were the representative from Benchmarck Engineering Mr. Nelson Labay and City Engineer Luis I. Despalo. Zamboanga City councilors and baranggay officials who graced the affair were “El King” Omaga, Elong Natividad, Rey Modillas, Noning Biel, Jawo Jimenez, Pinpin Pareja and Myra Paz Abubakar.
