On January 31, 2025, during its 5th regular session, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Zamboanga City passed two resolutions commending the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) College of Law for producing a topnotcher in the 2024 Bar Examination and congratulating Atty. Gregorio Jose S. Torres II for securing 9th place nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WMSU President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena accepted the award on behalf of the university, accompanied by College of Law Dean Atty. Irma Rivero and Atty. Torres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her message, Dr. Ochotorena thanked the Sangguniang Panlungsod for recognizing WMSU\u2019s academic excellence and reaffirmed the university\u2019s commitment to strengthening its legal education program to provide top-tier training for aspiring lawyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atty. Rivero also expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the College of Law\u2019s dedication to continuously enhancing its curriculum and faculty development programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Humbled by the commendation, Atty. Torres credited his success to WMSU\u2019s rigorous training and expressed hope that the university would continue producing topnotchers in the years ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resolutions highlight WMSU\u2019s growing reputation in legal education and reinforce its role as a premier institution for shaping future legal professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
