{"id":9747,"date":"2026-10-09T16:14:29","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T08:14:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wmsu.edu.ph\/?p=9747"},"modified":"2026-10-09T16:14:30","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T08:14:30","slug":"wmsu-conducts-annual-evaluation-and-disposal-of-valueless-records-in-coordination-with-nap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wmsu.edu.ph\/?p=9747","title":{"rendered":"WMSU Conducts Annual Evaluation and Disposal of Valueless Records in Coordination with NAP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), through its Records and Archives Office (RAO), successfully conducted its annual evaluation and disposal of valueless records on September 23 and 24, 2026, in coordination with the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP), reinforcing the University&#8217;s commitment to efficient, systematic, and accountable records management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two-day activity commenced with the verification and evaluation of records at the University&#8217;s Records and Archives Office. Iris Marie M. Camins, Records Management Analyst I of the National Archives of the Philippines, assessed the University&#8217;s records to identify those that had reached the end of their prescribed retention periods and no longer held administrative, fiscal, legal, or archival value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the evaluation, NAP verified the records&#8217; eligibility for disposal and ensured compliance with established government records management policies and procedures before authorizing their destruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the evaluation, the University disposed of the NAP-approved records at the Salaan Sanitary Landfill Facility. Maevelyn M. Infante, State Auditor I, together with University Records Officer Darea Jonnah Siloterio and personnel from the Records and Archives Office, witnessed the disposal process to ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with applicable records management procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The activity also strengthened the University&#8217;s efforts to safeguard institutional information, prevent unauthorized disposal of official records, and maintain an organized and reliable records management system.
