RSTC spearheads CBPSME meeting with DOST-SEIs

The Western Mindanao State University through the office of the Regional Science Teaching Center (RSTC) takes pride to be chosen as the venue for the 2018 – 3rd Meeting of the Capacity Building Program in Science and Mathematics Education (CBPSME) which was held on June 14, 2018 at the Function Room of the College of Home Economics.

The CBPSME is a national consortium scholarship program for Masters’ and Doctorate degree programs. WMSU, as a member of the consortium, is a delivering institution with scholars who are teachers coming from Region IX and the Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) pursuing graduate degrees at the College of Science and Mathematics.

The Meeting is a periodic conference of the DOST-SEI and all Project Directors (Technical and Selection Committee) of the Consortium universities, as follows:

Dr. Evangeline P. Bautista- Ateneo de Manila University
Dr. Lydia S. Roleda- De La Salle University
Dr. Ma. Nympha B. Joaquin- University of the Philippines
Dr. Ricardo T. Bagarinao- University of the Philippines Open University
Dr. Eden V. Evangelista- Philippine Normal University
Dr. Lorna M. Miña- Bicol University, Legaspi City
Dr. Aris Reynold V. Cajigal- Mariano Marcos State University
Dr. Eden S. David- Central Luzon State University
Dr. Nelson A. Rosaroso- University of San Carlos
Dr. Hilda C. Montaño- West Visayas State University
Dr. Bartolome C. Cagas- Mindanao State University
Dr. Araceli A. Lim- Western Mindanao State University

Four other universities will soon join the Consortium, namely: Leyte Normal University, Cebu Normal University, St. Mary’s University, and Mindanao State University- Iligan Institute of Technology.

The meeting was attended by five (5) DOST-SEI personnel led by the Deputy Director, Engr. Albert G. Mariño, and all Project Directors of the member universities except MMSU.

The DOST-SEI and the group of Project Directors have expressed an overwhelming gratitude and pleasure for the kind of reception afforded to them by the University, breaking the notion of peace and order issue in Zamboanga City. (Dr. Araceli A. Lim, Director-RSTC)
