CSC’s Search for Government Exemplars is on!

True to its commitment to support the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in all its endeavors, the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) joins the Search for Outstanding Government Workers 2019.
The annual Search forms part of CSC’s Honor Awards Program (HAP) which recognizes government officials and employees who have displayed outstanding work performance and exemplary conduct and ethical behavior. The program aims to motivate or inspire government employees to improve the quality of their performance and instill deeper involvement in public service.

The annual Search started in 1965 through Employee Suggestions and Incentives Awards System (ESIAS) implemented under Section 27 of Republic Act No. 2260 or the Civil Service Act of 1959 to award public servants for their extraordinary acts or services that contributed to the efficiency, economy and improvement of government operations.

The three award categories under the Search are the Presidential Lingkod Bayan, Outstanding Public Officials and Employees or the Dangal ng Bayan and CSC Pagasa.There are three award categories under the Search: the Presidential Lingkod Bayan (PLB), the Outstanding Public Officials and Employees or Dangal ng Bayan (DnB), and the CSC Pagasa.

The PLB Award is conferred on an individual or group of five (5) members for exceptional or extraordinary contributions that had nationwide impact. The CSC Pagasa Award is conferred on an individual or group of five (5) members for outstanding contributions that directly benefit more than one department of the government. The DnB Award is given to an individual for performance of an extraordinary act or public service and consistent demonstration of exemplary ethical behavior.

PLB awardees are entitled to automatic promotion to the next higher position or the equivalent salary increase, subject to existing civil service rules and regulations.

They shall also receive a gold-gilded medallion, plaque containing the citation and signature of the President of the Philippines, and cash prize.

DnB awardees may be entitled to automatic promotion to the next higher position or receive the equivalent salary increase, subject to existing civil service rules and regulations. They shall also receive a trophy and a cash prize.

Meanwhile, CSC Pagasa awardees shall be given a gold-gilded medallion, plaque containing the citation and signature of the CSC Chairperson, and a cash prize.

In WMSU, Prof. Clemencio M. Bascar, former Vice President for Corporate Affairs, received the CSC Pag-asa Award. He received the recognition in a ceremony held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines which highlighted the 108th Philippine Civil Service anniversary celebration.
