Three crimson studes were awarded among Five Outstanding Zamboangeño Young Leaders (FOZYL) 2017 during the 102nd birthday anniversary of the Great Filibuster, Senator Roseller T. Lim held February 9, 2017.
Zamboanga City government together with Junior Chamber International (JCI) accords recognition to five young leaders who have been the Roseller T. Lim in the modern period. These FOZYL awardees epitomized the late senator’s passion in community and public service, leadership traits, excellence, and civic responsibility.
Awardees were selected through thorough judging on their accomplishments as youth leaders and advocates in the society. Conferred among the five young leaders were Angelo Arquiza (College of Nursing), Giovanie Perez (College of Liberal Arts), and Julius Luzana (College of Nursing). They were given a Plaque of Recognition and five thousand pesos (P5, 000.00) cash prize.
Crimson studes have always been consistently among the FOZYL awardees for seven (7) consecutive years, leaving imprints as they make vital changes in the society. These students emulate the late senator’s ideals and legacy in realizing the University’s vision to produce professionals who are socially responsive to and responsible for human development; ecological sustainability; and, peace and security within and beyond the region.
