WG&A Superferry Lines, Happy Campers Tours & Leisure and Western Mindanao State University), signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the On Board Practicum for Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM) and Bachelor of Science in Home Economics (BSHE) students last January 26, 2011.
In the signing ceremonies held at the Hotel and Restaurant Management Hall in this university, WMSU’s President, Dr. Grace J. Rebollos, said that the partnership will surely enrich the learning experience of the students. WMSU has been open for partnerships especially if it promotes growth and linkages of the university.
The WG&A Superferry Lines of Aboitiz Transport System Corporation would render their Apprenticeship by Exposure (ApEx) training program to the students as stipulated in the agreement. The training program includes 120 hours of immersion and hands-on training. A certificate of completion will be given to the students at the end the program. On the other hand, the Learning Thru Travel Program of the Happy Campers Tours & Leisure promotes tour exposures for the students to facilitate learning. The travel agency sees to it that the students’ accommodations and needs during the travel are well taken care of. The latter also source out events for the students such as workshops, trade exhibits and cooking demonstrations. The agreements will be effective for one academic year and are renewable.
The event was attended by the different college deans, university officials, CHE faculty and staff, Sharyn Varron Jacobsen (Superferry Vice Presidents for Operations), Genevieve Daniel (Sales & Marketing Executive) and Engr.
