On July 24, 2023, the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) hosted an orientation at the WMSU Social Hall to familiarize faculty members with the newly implemented CHED Automated System for Reclassification of Faculty.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Nursia M. Barjose, the Vice President for Academic Affairs at WMSU. Dr. Barjose expressed her gratitude to WMSU President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, Director of Quality Assurance Dr. Sarah S. Taupan, WMSU Human Resource Office and the WMSU Faculty Club for their unwavering support to the new system.

Leading the orientation was Dr. Rody P. Garcia, the OIC-Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office – IX (CHEDRO-IX). Dr. Garcia provided a comprehensive rationale behind the development and implementation of the CHED Automated System.

During the session, Engr. Joseph Lou C. Sta. Teresa, the OIC-Chief Education Program Specialist at CHEDRO-IX, encouraged the participants to familiarize themselves with DBM-CHED Joint Circular No. 3, series of 2022.

The orientation was followed by an open forum, where faculty members had the opportunity to seek clarification on any concerns they had regarding the new system. Dr. Garcia and Engr. Sta. Teresa actively engaged with the participants, addressing their queries and providing valuable insights.

Concluding the event, Dr. Adrian P. Semorlan, the Faculty Regent, delivered the closing remarks. Dr. Semorlan expressed optimism about the successful implementation of the CHED Automated System at WMSU.
