The Center for Research Utilization, Publication and Information Dissemination (RUPID) in coordination with the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) conducted the 2nd CCJE Research Forum last June 15, 2013, 2:00pm at the RDE Conference Room, WMSU.

Prof. Effrendy M. Estipona, MSCrim, the CCJE Dean, hailed the the presenters and participants of this year’s forum. On the other hand, the Dean for Research, Development and Evaluation Center (RDEC), Dr. Chona Q. Sarmiento, inspired and challenged the presenters to join the journal publication of the International Association of Multidisciplinary Research (IAMURE). The IAMURE Journal is a scientific, international, peer reveived, online, indexed, cross reference publication.

Before the presentation of researches, a turnover of the research entitled:“Assessment of a New Method of Teaching Fundamentals of Handgun Marksmanship” by Arch. Domingo A. Abarro III, Dean of the College of Architecture and Prof. Reiner Rosaldo, MSCrim, CCJE Faculty was held. The sais research won Silver Award in the contest for Best Oral Research Presentation during the 3rd International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research Scientific Committee held at the La Consolacion College, Bacolod City last February 7-9, 2013. The study was received by Dean Estipona and witnessed by RDEC Dean Dr. Sarmiento and RUPID Director Dr.Tendero.

The following three (3) paper presentations from the Master of Science in Criminology (MSCrim)were: (1) Zamboanga International Airport (ZIA) Preventive Security, Maintenance and Monitoring” by Ricardo A. Fesalbon, MSCrim;(2)A Training Evaluation on PNP Modified Special Counter-Insurgency Training (SCOUT) Program of Police Regional Office-9” by Rodolfo F. Taño, Jr, MSCrim and (3) “Intelligence Capability of the Zamboanga City Police in Countering Criminality and Terrorism” by Ronne-Val R. Kulong, MSCrim.

Arch. The said turnover was witnessed by  Dr. Chona Q. Sarmiento, RDEC Dean, and Dr. Julieta B. Tendero, RUPID Director.

Certificate of Recognition were given to the presenters and certificates of participation were also given to the attendees of the said research forum.

The research forum which aims to disseminate researches to intended users,is an important part in the building of a research culture in the university.
