Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), under the leadership of Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, has taken significant strides in fostering community development through the signing of two Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs) last February 27, 2024.
The first MOA, forged with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office IX, aims to establish a Violence Against Women Desk Portal, a software designed to empower local communities and combat gender-based violence effectively. this initiative seeks to foster a safer and more inclusive society for all.
In a parallel endeavor, Western Mindanao State University entered into a second MOA with Barangay Lumbangan. This agreement is focused on the implementation of a Geographic Information System (GIS)-based site map, strategically deployed to aid in reforesting degraded areas within Zamboanga City’s watershed boundaries.
