Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) through its Research and Innovation Center for Metals and Engineering (RICME), has partnered with Cagayan State University (CSU) to establish a C-Trike kit developer and conversion center in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
The initiative, supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), aims to provide sustainable, inclusive, and innovative transportation solutions, contributing to cleaner and smarter mobility across the region and in Mindanao.
The signing was witnessed by key partners and stakeholders, including Dr. Virginia G. Bilgera, Regional Director of DOST Region 2, Dr. Florentina S. Dumlao, CSU Technical Adviser, Engr. Michael R. Orpilla, C-Trike Project Leader, Dr. Ulmen Riff L. Circulado, Dean of WMSU College of Engineering, Engr. Czarina Adelene Aquino, Associate Dean, Engr. Kevin Marc Bejerano, RICME Center Head and the dedicated staff of RICME.
Speaking on behalf of WMSU President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorenaa, Dr. Circulado reaffirmed the universityโs commitment to innovation and collaboration, emphasizing WMSU’s readiness to support the rollout of sustainable technologies in the region.
This endeavor aligns with DOSTโs national framework for Smart and Sustainable Communities and Cities, reinforcing the push for green mobility and clean energy adoption with WMSU playing a key role in advancing these goals in the region and beyond. (By Engr. Anamie Rabongue)
