To increase productivity and for a more efficient work environment, a team-building activity with the faculty members of the Western Mindanao State University-College of Liberal Arts (WMSU-CLA) was held last October 26, 2019 at the Azura Beach Resort, Zamboanga City.
The one-day activity was a collaborative effort of the Office of the Vice-president for Academic Affairs (VPAA) and the Center for Continuing Education (CCE) with a theme of “Celebrating Success Amidst Challenges of Change”.
Dr. Adrian P. Semorlan, Dean of CLA, welcomed the faculty members with enthusiasm. In his speech, Dr. Semorlan encouraged the participants to actively participate and to pour out their hearts in different activities prepared for them, for the reason that the team building was not only made to have fun, to take a break to the demands of what they have signed for, but also to develop their leadership skills, to create a better workforce and to boost their morale.
Ms. Haydee G. Adalia, Public Information Officer (PIO) of the CLA Faculty Organization, discussed the rationale of the activities and the different house rules during the event. Furthermore, she cheered the faculty members to give their hundred percent to win the games.
The team-building includes activities that enable the participants to improve their communication skills with one another, to create a foundation of trust with their colleagues to create a much livelier and friendlier work environment.
Also, Dr. Mary Joselyn C Biong, Assistant Director of CCE closed the program. She was thrilled when she announced that the team building was a huge success and thanked the participants who actively participated in the different activities they have prepared. (Abdul Aziz U. Salim, WMSU-PAO)
