In the continuous quest for quality learning, holding this Annual Information Technology Summit is the perfect avenue to strengthen the bond of camaraderie between External Studies Units (ESUs) because it does not only involve academic derby but likewise promotes friendship among members of the family.
The Pagadian ESU was the host of the 5th IT Summit which was held on November 29 to December 2, 2012 at the Pagadian ESU campus, Pagadian City. It was with the theme, “Setting Off Ripples of Change Through IT for Better Communities” in order to pay back the goodness of other ESUs who were the former hosts of the same event.
The summit was participated by nine External Studies Units located in the entire Zamboanga Peninsula such as Aurora, Imelda, Ipil, Molave, Malangas, Pitogo, Siay, Tungawan, and the host itself, the Pagadian ESU.
This rare undertaking is likewise an opportunity for the students to showcase their potentials as it is packed with variety of mind-twisting contests like C++ Programming, Java Programming, Flash Game Development, Web-Page Making Contest, Graphics Design Contest and IT Quiz Bowl. Facilitating these activities are group of engineers from the main campus headed by the coordinator, Engr. Nadine L. Evangelista, together with the Associate Dean of External Studies, Dr. Alicia T. Baldicano and the Dean of ESU himself, Dr. Ricardo A. Somblingo as head of the team.
In order to break the monotony of mind quest and brain power, part and parcel of the program was the socialization night where every delegate is required to present an entertainment number. It was the night of giggles and chuckles because of the fun-filled showcase of talents from the participants representing their respective ESU.
Moreover, the event became more enlivened because it was graced by no less than the dynamic University President-Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho, together with Alumni Regent-Atty. Eduardo F. Sanson, Faculty Regent-Edgar R. Araojo, and other WMSU officials who came over to witness the Awarding Ceremony. Dr. Ho imparted a very inspiring message that made the activity more than just a sound success. (Information from Dr. Alicia T.
