The National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) conducted a Grants Orientation and Writeshop via Zoom Online Meeting last 22nd of June 2023, which was participated by selected faculty members of the Western Mindanao State University and personnel from the National Museum Zamboanga City and Civil Society Organization (CSO).Deputy Executive Director of NCCA, Mr. Bernan Joseph R. Corpuz, welcomed the attendees, while the University President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena delivered her message through the VPAA, Dr. Nursia M. Barjose.

The orientation proper was facilitated by Mr. Patri Santos, who gave a brief background about the NCCA, Ms. Jonalie Lorilla presented the accreditation guidelines, Ms. Marites Pitalbo, Head, NEFCA Accounting Section talked about the finance requirements, while Ms. Corinnah Anne C. Olazo, Head, Cultural Dissemination Section and Research Grants discussed the Guidelines of the Competitive Grants.

This event was made possible through the Office of the University Museum headed by its Focal Person, Dr. Melanie F. Lear and her management team composed of Dr. Reynante Autida, Dr. Husin Swidin, Dr. Aubrey Reyes, and Mr. Mark Francis Francisco.
