A STUDENT of the Zamboanga Chong Hua High School has topped the series of college entrance tests (CET) that was given by the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) from November, 2005 to January, this year.
WMSU Testing and Evaluation Center Director Ofelia Mae Brioso named the topnotcher a Abegail Chan Ceralde. Ceralde obtained an Over-All Percentile Rank (OAPR) of 99.99% among the 8,424 students who took the CET, which was given throughout the Zamboanga peninsula region including Basilan province . Brioso said that of the total who took the examination, some 4,100 college freshmen are eligible for admission in the university and its 15 external studies units (ESUs) in the next school year. The eligible students obtained a rating of at least 50% OAPR. Students who garnered an OAPR of at least 40% may also be enrolled in the College of Agriculture or the Institute of Islamic and Asian Studies for a two-year program, or in a four-year program in the ESUs, Director Brioso said.
