On January 10, 2025, the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), through its Career and Job Placement Center (CJPC), took a significant step towards promoting sustainable careers for its students and alumni. The university formalized a partnership with MIDAS Smart Resources Corporation by signing a Memorandum of Agreement aimed at providing career and employment opportunities for WMSU students and graduates in Germany.
This collaboration focuses on offering comprehensive placement services, including resume reviews, interview preparation, and German language courses for students and alumni. The initiative seeks to empower graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in international settings, particularly in Germany, where demand for skilled nursing and professionals continues to rise.
During the event, Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, WMSU President, expressed her optimism about the partnership. “This agreement opens new doors for our graduates, enabling them to reach their full potential and achieve professional success on a global stage. It also reflects WMSU’s commitment to ensuring that our students and alumni are well-prepared to meet the demands of the ever-changing job market.” She also commended Prof. Nerlyne C. Concepcion, Director of the WMSU CJPC, for her unwavering dedication to helping students secure brighter futures.
This collaboration not only strengthens WMSU’s commitment to producing globally competitive professionals but also sets a benchmark for other programs within the university to explore similar international opportunities. The partnership marks a significant milestone in WMSU’s efforts to provide holistic career development and support for its graduates.
