Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) has secured institutional membership in the Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services, Inc. (PAPSAS), strengthening opportunities for professional collaboration and continuous improvement in the delivery of Student Affairs and Services (SAS).

The Certificate of Membership recognizes WMSU as a member institution of the professional organization and is valid until April 2027.

According to Engr. Evelyn N. Angeles, Director of the Office of Student Affairs, the University’s membership signifies its commitment to excellence, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in student services.

Engr. Angeles emphasized that joining PAPSAS enables WMSU to expand its professional network by building partnerships and fostering collaboration with higher education institutions and student affairs practitioners across the country.

Through these linkages, the University can benchmark its programs, learn from established best practices, and share its own competencies and innovative approaches in student affairs management.

She also highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing the evolving needs of students. As student demographics become increasingly diverse, professional exchanges can help WMSU develop more responsive, inclusive, and holistic services that support learners’ needs, expectations, and overall well-being.

PAPSAS is a professional organization of student affairs and services administrators and practitioners in the Philippines. It promotes excellence in the field by providing professional development opportunities and capacity-building programs that enhance members’ competencies.

For WMSU, institutional membership in PAPSAS provides a platform to strengthen student affairs programs, enhance professional competencies, and promote a learning environment that supports students’ academic, social, and personal development. (LMP, PAO)
