CLA Dean presents paper in KL, Malaysia

College of Liberal Arts Dean Dr. Adrian P. Semorlan recently presented a study on “The Effects and Responses among Higher Education Institutions towards Globalized Education” in the 2015 International Conference on Teaching and Learning Towards ASEAN Integration (ICTL) held at the Soleil Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in October 28 to 29, 2015, sponsored by the Center for Human Research and Development Foundation.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Rito Baring, from the De La Salle University discussed and addressed issues and concerns on Curriculum Reforms and Deeper Learning Competencies for 21st Century Education, such as: Mastery of Core Content, Critical Thinking, Working to Collaborate, Effective Communication, Learning to Learn, Develop Academic Mindsets, and Open Distance Learning (ODL).

Dr. Semorlan also took part in the discussion regarding the readiness of the Philippine Higher Education Institutions toward ASEAN Integration. He discussed about the k to 12 Readiness, ISO, Accreditation, CMO, and other requirements in the Philippine Higher Education Curriculum.

The said conference was attended by more than fifty participants from across Asia.
