Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) was recently honored with a prestigious Certificate of Appreciation from the Philippine Air Force, Headquarters 530th Air Base Group, in recognition of the university’s immense support and unwavering contributions to the fulfillment of the Air Base Group’s mission. This award was presented during the 69th Founding Anniversary Celebration of the 530th Air Base Group held on October 16, 2024, at Edwin Andrews Air Base, Zamboanga City.
The event celebrated the theme, “530th ABG @ 69: Strengthening Capability through Excellent Base Service Support, Accelerating Towards One Philippine Air Force in Mindanao.” WMSU’s invaluable assistance, particularly in supporting various initiatives that align with national security and development, was highly commended.
Representing the university at the event was Dr. Berhana I. Flores, Chief of Staff of the Office of the President, who accepted the certificate on behalf of WMSU President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena. This recognition highlights WMSU’s continued commitment to forging strong partnerships with the armed forces and other national entities, ensuring a collaborative effort in advancing the nation’s goals.
