The Administrative Personnel of Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) gathered for a festive year-end celebration of a successful year and recognize the contributions of their hardworking staff. The event, held on December 05, featured a mix of recognition, entertainment, and camaraderie.
A significant highlight of the event was the Recognition of Loyalty Awardees which was spearheaded by University President Dr. M. Carla A. Ochotorena. Loyalty awardees were honored for their years of service in intervals of 10, 20, 25, 35, and 40 years. Dr. Berhana I. Flores, University Chief of Staff and Chair of the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Committee, assisted in the awarding ceremony.
This was followed by a special acknowledgment of the 2024 retirees, who were celebrated for their contributions to the institution. The recognition was led by Dr. Ochotorena; Dr. Joselito D. Madroñal, Vice President for Administration and Finance; and, Mrs. Ma. Teresita J. Rodriguez, Officer-in-Charge of the Human Resource Management Office. The segment culminated in a heartfelt message from Dr. Ochotorena, emphasizing the value of teamwork and shared success.
The program proceeded with the “Havana Walk,” where the non-teaching personnel showcased their vibrant Havana-inspired outfits, exuding tropical charm and lively colors that set an upbeat and celebratory tone. This was followed by an inspiring Christmas Message from Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, University President, who expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the team’s dedication and hard work throughout the year. She remarked, “The University would not be where it is today without the unwavering efforts of those who tirelessly strive to place WMSU on the map of higher education institutions. Thank you for your invaluable service to WMSU.”
To cap off the evening, performances from the “Whatchamacallit Entries” delighted the audience, showcasing the creativity and talents of the administrative staff. Among the entries was the dance presentation of the utility personnel, which captivated everyone and ultimately emerged as the winning performance of the event.
