WMSU and PRO-9 Forge Partnership for Criminology Internship

On March 20, 2025, Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), led by University President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, and Police Regional Office 9 (PRO-9), headed by PBGEN Roel C. Rodolfo, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the internship program of WMSU’s Bachelor of Science in Criminology students.

PBGEN Rodolfo emphasized the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) commitment to mentoring the country’s future law enforcers while instilling the values of discipline, honor, and, most importantly, integrity. He encouraged the students, who will one day join the police force, to serve the nation with dignity.

Dr. Ochotorena expressed her gratitude to the PNP for its shared commitment to shaping students’ futures by enhancing their education and skills through the internship program. She also credited WMSU’s strong partnership with the PNP as a key factor in the university’s outstanding performance in the recent Criminology Licensure Examination, where WMSU ranked 2nd overall in Category B.

Also present during the ceremony were PRO-9 Information Officer and WMSU Alumni Association 1st Vice President PLTCOL Helen L. Galvez, WMSU vice presidents, faculty and students of the College of Criminal Justice Education, and other members of the university community.
