The Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), under the leadership of University President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) on May 15, 2025, at the Office of the President. This agreement marks a significant step toward enhancing the financial security and well-being of university employees.
The Multipurpose Loan (MPL) program consolidates twelve (12) existing loan types into a single facility, allowing eligible members to borrow up to fourteen (14) times their basic monthly salary. The maximum loanable amount is determined based on the memberโs Period with Paid Premiums (PPP) and computed Basic Monthly Salary (BMS). Members may choose the loan amount and term according to their PPP, with the added benefit of a lower interest rate compared to previous loan programs.
Following the MOA signing, GSIS plans to conduct an orientation to further inform WMSU stakeholders about the details and benefits of the MPL program. (Atty. MA Tamon-PAO)
