WMSU-CPADS Researches Endorsed by the Zamboanga City Council

During the 44th Regular Session of the City Council of Zamboanga City on November 12, 2025, the Council unanimously and jointly endorsed the Futures Thinking Study entitled β€œEnhancing Zamboanga City’s Urban Flooding Resilience: A Forward-Looking Evaluation of Flood Management and Hazard Mitigation Strategies”, along with another research on Strengthening Disaster Risk Governance, both conducted by the College of Public Administration and Development Studies (CPADS) of Western Mindanao State University.

The resolution was sponsored by Hon. Joel H. Esteban, while Hon. Melchor Rey K. Sadain proposed another resolution commending WMSU-CPADS for its invaluable contribution to policy research and disaster resilience.

The research team includes Asst. Prof. Aldrin S. Valerio, Asst. Prof. Lesley Ann F. Atilano-Tang, Asst. Prof. Cedrick S. Zabala, Asst. Prof. Armand H. Lee, Asso. Prof. Marlon C. Grande, and Dr. Alex R. Marcos, with Dr. Mary Joselyn C. Biong, CPADS Graduate School Chair, present during the session.
