WMSU-CPADS Clinches 1st Runner Up in Advocacy Play Competition during IDAT & VAW Culmination

The Western Mindanao State University – College of Public Administration and Development Studies (WMSU-CPADS) proudly emerged as 1st Runner Up in the Short and Sweet Advocacy Play Competition, held as a highlight of the Culmination Activity for the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) and the International Day Against Human Trafficking (IDAT) on December 12, 2025, at the KCC Mall de Zamboanga.

Organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office IX, the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking (RIACAT), the event gathered various academic and sectoral groups to unify their voices against exploitation.

Representing the University, the CPADS theatrical ensemble delivered a compelling and courageous performance that transcended competition. Their piece stood out for its honest and unflinching depiction of human trafficking, shedding light on the harsh realities faced by victims and urging the audience to take a firm stand against abuse and injustice.

This achievement reflects the college’s unwavering commitment to shaping future public servants who champion human rights, uphold dignity, and advocate for a safer and more compassionate society.
