Orientation on LandBank ATM account enrollment for CHED scholars and grantees

The Western Mindanao State University, in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education and Land Bank of the Philippines through its Scholarship Office, successfully held an orientation on LandBank ATM account enrollment for CHED scholars and grantees on April 23, 2026, at the Dr. Juanito Bruno Gymnasium.

Mr. Fredelino M. San Juan, Vice President for Student Affairs, emphasized the importance of the orientation, highlighting how the initiative promotes efficiency, automation, and transparency in the disbursement of government-funded scholarships.

Dr. Marivic V. Iriberri, OIC Office of the Director IV, represented by Dr. Clarissa C. Alvarez, Officer-in-Charge, Supervising Education Program Specialist, underscored that directing financial assistance through ATM accounts significantly reduces bottlenecks and administrative delays that may affect students.

She further noted that the system ensures faster and more secure release of funds, minimizes manual processing errors, and provides students with convenient, direct access to their financial assistance. Additionally, it strengthens accountability through traceable transactions, reduces the risk of fund mismanagement, and supports financial inclusion by encouraging students to engage with formal banking services.

The activity was attended by beneficiaries of the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and the Tulong Dunong Program, reinforcing the university’s commitment to delivering accessible, efficient, and student-centered support services.
