The Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) held its annual Recognition Day on June 1, 2026, honoring outstanding students for academic excellence, leadership, and service across various colleges and programs.

The event gathered university officials, faculty, parents, and guests to celebrate students who demonstrated exceptional performance and active involvement in the university community, highlighting their hard work and dedication.

Guest speaker Ms. Jervil Formilleza-Omaga delivered an inspiring message, encouraging students to remain resilient and confident in pursuing their dreams. She reminded them that “circumstances do not define your future” and emphasized that being different is a strength rather than a weakness.

She also shared how education transformed her life and inspired her service as a WMSU instructor, urging students to use their talents to make a meaningful impact.
