WMSU Treats Utility Personnel to Nutri-Meal for Nutrition Month

Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), through the College of Home Economics, held a Nutri-Meal for the University’s utility personnel on July 10, 2026, at the WMSU Covered Court as part of the 52nd Nutrition Month celebration.

The activity recognized the contributions of utility personnel to the University community while promoting proper nutrition and healthy living.

Representing WMSU President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Dr. Fredelino M. San Juan conveyed the President’s message of appreciation.

“As we observe Nutrition Month, this Nutri-Meal reminds us that caring for the people who care for our University is equally important. Good nutrition is an investment in health, well-being, and productivity. Today is our way of saying that our utility personnel deserve to be appreciated, celebrated, and cared for,” he said.

Dr. San Juan also thanked the College of Home Economics, led by Dean Dr. Lucy Santos, for organizing the activity.

Before the meal, College of Home Economics faculty member Ms. Rugaida A. Abdullajic delivered a lecture titled “Supporting Healthy School Meals: The Vital Role of Utility Personnel.” She discussed the importance of proper nutrition and the role of utility personnel in maintaining a healthy school environment.

The activity concluded with the serving of nutritious meals prepared by the College of Home Economics, bringing together the University’s utility personnel for a shared meal in celebration of Nutrition Month.
