Hon. Benjamin “BG” Guingona IV, City Councilor of District II, Zamboanga City, encouraged student-athletes to strive for excellence beyond competition during his speech at the WMSU Palaro 2026.
In his message, Guingona emphasized that true victory is not measured solely by medals and championships but also by personal growth, discipline, and character development. He reminded athletes that sports provide opportunities to become better individuals, both on and off the playing field.
