Additional 400 KW Solar Energy to power WMSU Facilities

The Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) yet again showed how serious the university is towards being a more eco-friendly and sustainable university. WMSU officially launched the additional 400 Kilowatts (KW) renewable Energy Solar Facility last November 27, 2019 at Dr. Bruno Juanitoa Gymnasium.

            Dr. Milabel E. Ho, WMSU President said that the additional 400 KW energy will be very beneficial to the whole WMSU community as it reduces the cost of the monthly payment in electricity and reduces the effects of climate change. Moreover, she emphasized that every one of us has a role in conserving not only in the consumption of electricity but also in the consumption of water.

            Dr. Joselito Madroñal, Vice-president for Administration and Finance (VPAF) thanked Engr. Bernardo F. Fabula, Equator Energy Corporation (EEC)-President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the other men and women who are behind the successful installation of an additional 400KW Solar Energy. He also added that because of the solar energy installed the university can save up more money and allocate it to other projects.

            In his turn-over speech, Engr. Fabula thanked the WMSU community for trusting him and his men for the said project and commended the university officials for their serious efforts in making WMSU a self-sufficient university and helping the whole community mitigate the effects of global warming.

            In 2018, the university launched the first renewable energy facility in WMSU which can generate up to 200KW. (Abdul Aziz U. Salim, WMSU-PAO)
