Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) has once again secured its place among the worldβs leading institutions in innovation, ranking 156th in the Global Top 400 Innovative Universities by the World University Rankings for Innovation 2025 (WURI). The announcement was officially made on July 10, 2025, during the 5th Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) Conference held in Dumaguete City, Philippines, with the theme βBreaking Barriers, Empowering Change.β
WMSU earned recognition across multiple categories, placing 49th in the Top 100 Industrial Application Category, 33rd in the Top 42 Empowerment-based Management Category, and 45th in the Top 100 Infrastructure and Technologies Category. This remarkable feat marks the third consecutive year that WMSU has been recognized by WURI, reaffirming its growing global presence in academic innovation.
These milestones were achieved under the visionary leadership of University President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, who remains committed to fostering academic excellence, inclusive leadership, and sustainable innovation.
