In celebration of the holiday season, the WMSU administrative personnel conducted its year-end socialization and gave tribute to the retirees last December 18, 2019 at the Garden Orchid Convention.

The year-end socialization gathered all administrative personnel from different offices and colleges together to spend some break from the daily rigors of their office works.

A total of six (6) retirees from the administrative group were given recognition for their selfless service to Western Mindanao State University (WMSU). Mr. Francisco M. Ceniza, a retiree formerly assigned at the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) gave some words regarding his employment at WMSU.

“It is because of WMSU that I was able to finish my bachelor’s degree,” said Mr. Ceniza. “I was given a scholarship by the late Dr. Eldigario D. Gonzales, former president of WMSU,” he added. “I am very grateful for the discounts off the tuition of my children, they were able to finish their studies,” Mr. Ceniza said.

In addition, two administrative personnel were accorded the Gantimpala Agad Award (GAA) for their honesty and dedication to service. Mr. Oliver Wooton, a security officer assigned at the Office of the President, and Mr. Victor Ramos, a contract-of-service (COS) utility employee assigned at the College of Teacher Education (CTE), were commended by clients for their courtesy, promptness, efficiency and dedication to duty. Mr. Ramos returned a cellphone he found at the comfort room of CTE and Mr. Wooton also returned a lost bag. The two were given a plaque of recognition. (Liezel M. Parreño, WMSU-PAO)
