Western Mindanao State University’s very own president, Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho was recently honoured with the Professional Regulation Commission’s (PRC) award as the Outstanding Professional of the year during the commission’s 40th Founding Anniversary at the Fiesta Pavilion, Manila Hotel, City of Manila.
The commission recognized Dr. Enriquez-Ho’s significant contributions which are in consonance with the anniversary event’s theme: PRC CARES for Nation-building and Global Competitiveness. Moreover, the WMSU president was lauded for her determination and tenacity in leading the university towards her dream of renewing the academic landscape of WMSU with her administration slogan”: Un Universidad, Un Familia, Un Amor”; as a registered nurse for more than three decades and as 5th President and First Nurse President of WMSU, the premier state university in Region IX and one of the leading universities nationwide.

Further, PRC appreciated her profound commitment, dedication, integrity and strong sense of leadership as a nurse-educator; for her contributions to nursing as an outstanding nursing practitioner which made her the recipient of the 2007 Anastacia Giron Tupas (AGT) Award, the highest award the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) accords to professional nurses and numerous community awards and citations here in the Philippines and abroad; for her other involvements that include membership in international, national, regional and local civic organizations; and for her strong advocacies championing the Filipino nurse that brought her to different countries around the globe.
The event was organized by the Professional Regulation Commission, in coordination with the Philippine Association of the Professional Regulatory Board Member, Inc., Foundation for Outstanding Professionals, Inc. and the Philippine Federation of Professional Associations, Incorporated. Dubbed as “Awarding Ceremonies for the Outstanding Professionals and Outstanding Accredited Professional Organizations”, it seeks to confer award on individuals who exhibited utmost professionalism and to those who contributed sterling service in their respective fields.
