The Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) recognized the dedicated service rendered by its long-time employees by giving loyalty awards during a fitting ceremony held on October 1 at the WMSU Social Hall.
The event was held in line with the celebration of the 110th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service. This year’s theme is ‘In a R.A.C.E. to serve: Advancing Responsive, Accessible, Courteous and Effective Public Service’.
Given recognition through certificates and cash gifts were the following number of employees with their corresponding length of service: 14 employees – 10 years; 11 employees – 15 years; 15 employees – 20 years; 30 employees – 25 years; 11 employees – 30 years; six employees – 35 years; and two employees – 40 years.
In his inspirational message, Mr. Alvin R. Araneta, Director III, Civil Service Commission, Zamboanga City Field Office, hailed the loyalty awardees, not only for their length of service, but most of all, for having served well.
Dr. Grace J. Rebollos, WMSU President, underscored the fact that WMSU has many ‘good people’ whose talents and abilities should be made available to communities locally and even globally. This is what public service is, she stressed.
The Human Resource Management Office headed by Mrs. Ma. Teresita Rodriguez, organized and managed the event. (Evelyn C. Luceño, PAO-WMSU)
