An interfaith prayer rally was held by the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) family for the speedy and safe release of Mr. Alrashid Rojas, an administrative aide in the university’s College of Asian and Islamic Studies last June 26 at the WMSU’s Dr. Juanito Bruno Gymnasium.
Rojas was recently abducted from his residence in Campo Islam, this city by men in military uniforms. WMSU officials, administrative and academic staff and as well as the students joined in prayer in fervent hope that Mr. Rojas will be safely released by his abductors.

Speakers of the interfaith affair were Fr. Albert Alejo, SJ Ateneo de Zamboanga University’s Assistant to the President for Social Development; Pastor Berlie Yap of the Evangelical Church; and Darul Iftah IX Sec. Gen. Ustadz Abdulwakil Tanjilil. The speakers appeal from the authorities to resort to peaceful means in recovering the kidnap victim. They also urged to the attendees of the rally to believe in prayers.
Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho, WMSU President though with a heavy heart stood firm in instilling courage and faith among the WMSU constituents.
