Western Mindanao State University celebrated a significant milestone with the turnover of the CHED-Institutional Development and Innovation Grant (IDIG) Project on February 20, 2024. This project aims to enhance the Automation Laboratory and e-Learning facilities, ultimately improving technical competencies aligned with the requirements of industry 4.0.
Under the IDIG Program of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), WMSU received support to upgrade its instructional and learning facilities at the College of Engineering. This ensures the delivery of quality education to students while fostering the development of locally responsive, innovative, and globally competitive graduates and lifelong learners.
Dr. Mary Sylvette T. Gunigundo, the OIC-Director IV of the Office of Planning, Research, and Knowledge Management (OPRKM), led the turnover ceremony. University officials, directors, faculty, and students from the College of Engineering were in attendance to witness this momentous occasion.
The project, amounting to a total of P15,733,300.00, signifies a substantial investment in the technological advancement of the College of Engineering. The upgraded Automation Laboratory and e-Learning facilities are expected to provide students with state-of-the-art resources, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the evolving technological landscape.
University President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena expressed her enthusiasm for the completion of the project, highlighting its significance in preparing students for the demands of Industry 4.0. She emphasized the commitment of the university to providing quality education and fostering an environment that nurtures innovation and competitiveness.
