Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) conducted an oath-taking ceremony for 188 reclassified faculty members on June 10, 2024, at the Dr. Juanito Bruno Gymnasium. The event, led by University President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena and the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, in coordination with the Human Resource Office, marked a significant milestone for the faculty members.

Dr. Adrian P. Semorlan, Faculty Union President, congratulated the newly promoted faculty members and encouraged them to use their achievements as motivation for continued excellence. He emphasized the importance of striving for higher standards in their respective fields.

Dr. Nursia M. Barjose, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chair of Institutional Evaluation Committee(IEC), extended her salutations and expressed gratitude to the technical working group of IEC for their dedication to supervising the reclassification process.

Guest speaker, Dr. Rody P. Garcia, Regional Director of Region 9, delivered an inspiring message, urging faculty members to maximize their potential and stay relevant in their chosen fields. He emphasized that relevance is the most essential criterion for fully reaching one’s capabilities.

The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Sarah S. Taupan, OIC Dean, College of Public Administration and Development, and IEC member, who commended the faculty members for their dedication and commitment to their roles.

The event celebrated the achievements of WMSU’s faculty and highlighted the university’s commitment to academic excellence and professional development.
