ILS High School GPTA Conducts Annual General Assembly

The ILS High School GPTA successfully convened its annual General Assembly on September 28, 2024, at the ILS Covered Court. The event served as a platform for the presentation of the previous year’s accomplishments and the election of new executive officers.

Dr. Berhana I. Flores, Chief of Staff of the Office of the President, represented Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, the University President, in delivering the keynote address. Dr. Flores emphasized the crucial role of parents in fostering their children’s holistic development and academic success.

Dr. Victor A. Liozo, Jr., outgoing President, presented a comprehensive report highlighting his administration’s six-point agenda. He emphasized the successful implementation of initiatives focused on good governance, faculty development, facility upgrades, student development, socialization, and other school needs, resulting in significant benefits for both students and faculty.

Prof. Merlina E. Elizalde, outgoing Treasurer, provided a detailed account of the association’s sound financial management. Despite providing substantial support to the high school department, the GPTA was able to maintain a healthy financial reserve.

The second part of the assembly involved the election and induction of the new executive officers for the School Year 2024-2025 by Atty. Jules Christian D. Marcos. The newly elected officers are as follows:

President: Dr. Victor A. Liozo, Jr.

Vice President: Prof. Amyra S. Mohammad

Secretary: Dr. Carl Richard C. Dagalea

Treasurer: Prof. Merlinda E. Elizalde

Auditor: Mr. Maulana Salatun

Public Information Officer: Ms. Erin Lovely Simbajon

Project Managers: Dr. Sheryl P. Ramirez, Mrs. Editha Cubero, and Mrs. Adela Alibasa

The GPTA also organized a raffle with door prizes generously sponsored by various local government units and organizations.

The event concluded with a positive and memorable experience for all attendees, as parents and teachers returned home with tokens of appreciation, prizes, and fond memories of the General Assembly.
