Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) hosted a Mock Evaluation for Institutional Accreditation conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. on September 12–13, 2025 at the WMSU Social Hall.
The evaluation team consisted of Dr. Emily M. Arangote, former President of Aklan State University and Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho, former WMSU President and now Executive Director of AACCUP. Their visit aimed to help the university prepare for the upcoming institutional accreditation proper.
As WMSU President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena attended an equally important engagement, Vice President for Finance and Administration Dr. Joselito D. Madroñal delivered the university’s institutional profile. He emphasized that the pursuit of institutional accreditation pays homage to every milestone the university has achieved and is rooted in the dedication of those who came before.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Nursia M. Barjose welcomed the evaluators and the entire WMSU community. She stressed that the mock evaluation reflects the university’s commitment to aligning with AACCUP accreditation standards. She reminded everyone that WMSU remains steadfast in upholding academic integrity. Dr. Barjose also expressed her gratitude to the WMSU community for its dedication and effort, and to the evaluators for providing valuable insights that would benefit all stakeholders.
Vice President for Resource Generation Dr. Teresita A. Narvaez delivered the synthesis of the two-day mock evaluation. The activity concluded with the evaluators presenting their summarized commendations and recommendations in preparation for the upcoming Institutional Accreditation for AACCUP.
The event was a testament to the university’s dedication to academic excellence. It also highlighted WMSU’s commitment to continuous growth, ensuring that the institution remains a leading center of higher learning in Western Mindanao and beyond.
