On September 27, 2025, the Department of Mathematics and Statistics (DMS) within the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) successfully conducted the annual University-Wide Statistics Quiz with the theme; โ€œ๐˜ผ๐™˜๐™˜๐™š๐™ก๐™š๐™ง๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™Ž๐™ช๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™–๐™—๐™ก๐™š ๐˜ฟ๐™š๐™ซ๐™š๐™ก๐™ค๐™ฅ๐™ข๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ ๐™‚๐™ค๐™–๐™ก๐™จ (๐™Ž๐˜ฟ๐™‚) ๐™‹๐™–๐™˜๐™š ๐™ค๐™› ๐™‹๐™ง๐™ค๐™œ๐™ง๐™š๐™จ๐™จ: ๐™ˆ๐™ค๐™—๐™ž๐™ก๐™ž๐™ฏ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐˜ฟ๐™–๐™ฉ๐™– ๐™›๐™ค๐™ง ๐™–๐™ก๐™ก.โ€, which was held at CSM Conference Hall.

The event was participated by various freshies across the University. Out of 68 participants in the Elimination Round, 29 finalists advanced to the next round which was the competition proper. The competition was composed of three rounds; Easy, Average, and Difficult rounds which featured multiple-choice questions across three rounds. A panel of judges ensured fairness and accuracy, with professors facilitating the event. After the Easy round, only 5 participants advanced to the next round.

After the thrilling questions from the Average and Difficult Round, the results are as follows:

๐‡๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ก๐ž๐๐ข ๐Œ๐ฎ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ข ๐’. ๐†๐š๐ง๐ข, a BS Mathematics student from the College of Science and Mathematics scored 35 points overall, securing the first-place position for this yearโ€™s University-Wide Statistic Quiz. In second place, ๐ˆ๐›๐ซ๐š๐ก๐ž๐ž๐ฆ ๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐š๐ฅ, a BS Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering scored 29 points in total. Moreover, the 3rd and 4th place tied with 27 points, and a Tie Breaker Round was held. After that, ๐˜๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐Ÿ ๐‘. ๐‹๐š๐ฃ๐š, from the College of Nursing secured the 3rd Place and ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐œ ๐‰๐จ๐ฌ๐ก๐ฎ๐š ๐‚. ๐‚๐š๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ง๐ , from the College of Computing Studies, secured the 4th Place. Furthermore, ๐‰๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐. ๐’๐š๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ง๐š, from the College of Engineering, scored 25 points in total, placing 5th in the competition.

The event concluded by awarding the respective winners of the said competition, followed by a photo opportunity with the participants, judges, faculty, and students. With that, the top 3 finalists will now advance to the City-Wide Elimination.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics also extends its heartfelt congratulations to all participants from different courses who took part in the competition. The event was marked by success, achieved through notable contributions and dedicated efforts.
